Icarus Games Design Studio

Do you have a great idea for a character that you would like to see come to life as a finely detailed miniature? The Icarus Games Design Studio offers sculpting services to help you bring your dream miniature to life.

We have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, as well as individual clients to sculpt hundreds of miniatures, so whether you’re looking for simple upgrades to existing miniatures, or entirely new sculpts, we can help.

The sculpting process can be incredibly stressful, especially for new miniature companies. There are many small aspects that can go wrong and have a big impact on the final miniature. Having been through all these steps ourselves, we know what the common issues are and how to prevent them.

One Great Price: No Hidden Fees

Some sculptors and studios list a price for their sculpting work but also charge for “cuts”, the process of separating the miniature into individual components to make casting easier.

With Icarus Games, there are no hidden fees! Cuts are included in the price, allowing you to budget your project more precisely.

With our service you will be provided with a print-ready STL file that can be sent to your 3D printer of choice (we can connect you with several printing services if you would like).

Compatibility

Wherever possible, we will design your miniatures to be compatible with existing miniatures in your range, or future-proof them to make adding upgrades in the future as easy as possible.

Some sculptors and studios design miniatures in isolation so you end up with miniatures that might look great, but are totally independent.

We look at each miniature and if possible, design it so that things like arms and heads can be compatible with previous or future miniatures if you want them to be. This gives your customers more options, and helps improve sales.

Scale

Scale can be one of the most frustrating parts of miniature design. Miniatures, particularly wargaming miniatures, have no industry wide scale standard and many people use “28mm” to describe miniatures ranging from 25-40mm in size. This can lead to your miniatures being 3D printed at the wrong size.

To avoid this, we speak to you to find out exactly what size you’re looking for. If you’re not sure what different sizes look like, we’ll ask you to name some other miniature ranges that have a similar size to what you’re looking for wand we’ll go from there.

Where possible, we will try and work from an existing miniature to match size and proportions so you have a coherent range of products.

We’re able to produce miniatures in sizes ranging from 28-75mm, as well as produce character busts.
